2020 is not beginning of a new decade, nor 2000 was starting of new millennium
People are always confused about counting a decade or millennium. The new millennium, 21st Century hadn’t begun until January 1, 2001. Because there was no 0 (zero) to 9 year in A.D. calendar. It started with 1st year A.D. Therefore, to complete a first decade, it needed full 10 years between 1 to 10 A.D. calendar. This way, 2000 A.D. was end of 20th Century not the beginning of 21st Century. The very first decade of 21st Century is between 2001-2010. Likewise, 2nd decade of new millennium is 2011-2020 and it won’t be completed until December 31, 2020. Therefore, 3rd decade will begin only on January 1, 2021.
So, let’s apply Keep It Simple Stupid (K.I.S.S.) formula for counting future decade or millennium.
