Charity Luncheon to help Nepal’s Mountaineers’ Children being held in New York on December 29

New York- Mrs. Nepal Tourism 2019 winner and Tourism & Culture Goodwill Ambassador of Nepal Tourism Board, Tshering Dolma Sherpa’s namesake foundation is hosting a charity luncheon in New York on December 29, 2019 to help children and families of Nepal’s mountaineers, especially, porters and guides who have been killed during climbing expeditions.


According to Himalayan Database, a third, or, 94 Sherpas out of some 290 mountaineers who have died climbing world’s tallest Mt. Everest alone since 1905. There are 1,310 peaks above 6,000 meters in Nepal of which 238 are already opened for climbing. Nepal has also eight highest peaks above 8,000 meters out of fourteen including world’s tallest Mount Everest. Other world’s tallest seven peaks that are located in Nepal- Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Annapurna.
