Princeton University Students Visit USA Agro Farm for Sustainability, Food Access, and Stewardship Tour



Exclusive: Newton, NJ– On August 30th, 2024, more than 65 enthusiastic students from Princeton University's Pace Center for Civic Engagement (PCCE) visited USA Agro Farm in Newton, New Jersey, for an educational tour focusing on sustainability, food access, and land stewardship. This visit marks the second consecutive year that PCCE students have engaged with USA Agro Farm, solidifying a growing partnership centered on sustainable agriculture and community well-being in local level.



The students were warmly welcomed by Pradeep Pariyar Thapa, the founder of USA Agro Farm, who shared his extensive knowledge and experiences in sustainable farming practices, food access, and the importance of land rights. The tour provided an invaluable opportunity for the sophomore students to learn about the critical role that sustainable agriculture plays in fostering a healthier environment and supporting local communities.


This year's PCCE team was led by Isabel Connolly, a rising sophomore at Princeton University, along with other student leaders including Jayden Easy, Hammad Farooqi, Aman Dutta, and Anuja Magdum. These emerging student leaders are committed to becoming the future stewards of sustainable living, and they actively engaged in discussions on how to practice sustainability in their daily lives and support local farms.


USA Agro Farm, known for its organic produce and commitment to reducing food insecurity, continues to build its reputation as a key player in sustainable farming within the United States. The farm offers a variety of organic vegetables, fruits, medicinal and aromatic herbs, and pasture-raised livestock such as goats and chickens. By bringing generations of farming expertise from Nepal to the U.S., USA Agro Farm aims to serve the local community with healthy food choices while contributing to a more sustainable future.


The visit by Princeton students highlights the ongoing commitment of both institutions to sustainability and community engagement. As Princeton University continues to hold the #1 spot in the US News Best Colleges for 2024 and ranks #18 in the world by US News Best Global Universities, its students are making meaningful contributions to the local and global community.
